What this tool does (quick benefits)

  • Find the correct India PIN (postal) code for any area or post office.

  • Search by full or partial PIN code (numeric) or area / post office name (text).

  • Get instant suggestions while you type to speed up searches.

  • View full details for each post office: PIN, district, state, division, branch type and delivery status.

  • Copy a PIN with one click, open the location on Google Maps, or share the result easily.

  • See a set of nearby PIN codes and switch to them quickly.

  • Light / dark theme and a privacy note: no user data is stored.

Step-by-step — using the tool (very easy)

  1. Type in the box
At the top, click the input that says “Enter PIN code or Area name…”. You can type either a numeric PIN (for example 110001) or an area/post office name (for example Connaught Place).

  2. Use instant suggestions
As you type (after 2 characters) the tool shows a dropdown of suggestions. Click a suggestion to fill the search box automatically and run the search. This saves time and helps if you don’t remember the exact spelling.

  3. Start the search
Press the blue Search button or hit Enter on your keyboard. A small spinner appears while the tool fetches live data. If the spinner is visible, wait a second — results arrive quickly.

  4. Read results
Results show as cards. Each card displays:

    • Post office name

    • PIN code (big and visible)

    • District, State, Division, Delivery Status, Branch Type

The top of the results area also shows how many results were found.

  5. Quick actions on each result

    • Copy PIN — click to copy the PIN to your clipboard so you can paste it anywhere (forms, messages).

    • View Map — opens Google Maps in a new tab showing the post office location.

• Share — opens your device’s sharing options (if supported) or falls back to copying the PIN.

  6. Nearby PINs
After a successful search, a small “Nearby PIN Codes” strip appears. Click any nearby PIN to instantly search it.

  7. Clear or start over
Use the Clear button next to Search to empty the box and hide results / suggestions.

  8. Dark / Light mode
Click the theme toggle (top right) to switch between light and dark themes. Your preference is remembered for next visits.

Helpful tips

  • Prefer numeric search when you know the 6-digit PIN — it gives exact results. Use area name when you’re unsure of the PIN.

  • If nothing shows, try a slightly different spelling or a broader term (e.g., city instead of neighbourhood).

  • The tool uses India Post’s public API for live results; if the API is temporarily unreachable you’ll see a friendly error message. Try again a moment later.

  • The tool does not store your searches — it’s a front-end that fetches live data only.

Error & privacy notes

  • If you see an error like “Unable to fetch live data,” it means the external API or your connection had a problem — retry after a few seconds.

  • There’s a small trust message under the tool: your data is safe — we don’t store anything
