Modes Available

1. Password Mode

  • Purpose: Generate traditional random passwords with customizable character sets

  • Features:

    • Adjustable length (4-32 characters)

    • Include/exclude uppercase letters

    • Include/exclude lowercase letters

    • Include/exclude numbers

    • Include/exclude symbols

    • Option to exclude confusing characters (0, O, I, l, 1)

2. Passphrase Mode

  • Purpose: Create easy-to-remember but secure passphrases

  • Features:

    • Customizable word count (2-10 words)

    • Custom separator between words

    • Uses a predefined wordlist for consistency

3. Pattern Mode

  • Purpose: Generate passwords following a specific pattern

  • Features:

    • Use pattern codes: L=letter, 9=number, @=symbol

    • Example: “LLL-999-@@” generates “Abc-123-!$”

Step-by-Step Instructions

Basic Usage

  1. Select your preferred mode (Password, Passphrase, or Pattern)

  2. Configure the options for your selected mode

  3. Click “Generate” to create a new password

  4. Use the “Copy” button to copy the password to clipboard

  5. Toggle visibility with the eye icon 👁 to show/hide the password

Password Mode Specific

  1. Choose “Password” mode

  2. Adjust the length slider to your desired password length

  3. Check/uncheck character types as needed

  4. Enable “Exclude confusing” if you want to avoid similar-looking characters

  5. Click “Generate” or use preset buttons for quick lengths

Passphrase Mode Specific

  1. Choose “Passphrase” mode

Pattern Mode Specific

  1. Choose “Pattern” mode

  2. Enter your pattern using:

    • L for letters (uppercase and lowercase)

    • 9 for numbers

    • @ for symbols

    • Any other characters will be used literally

  3. Click “Generate” to create password following your pattern

Features Explained

Strength Meter

  • Weak (Red): Below 40 bits entropy

  • Medium (Yellow): 40-60 bits entropy

  • Strong (Green): Above 60 bits entropy

The meter calculates password strength based on entropy, which considers both password length and character variety.

Preset Buttons

Quickly generate passwords with common lengths:

  • 8 characters: Basic security

  • 12 characters: Good security

  • 16 characters: Strong security

  • 24 characters: Maximum security

Security Features

  • Auto-clear clipboard: Copied passwords are automatically cleared from clipboard after 10 seconds

  • Cryptographically secure: Uses browser’s crypto API for true randomness

  • No data storage: Everything happens locally in your browser
