How To Use Jumbled Text Generator

Overview

The Jumbled Text Generator is a powerful tool that scrambles your text while preserving readability. Perfect for creating puzzles, testing reading comprehension, or just having fun with words!

Getting Started

1. Input Your Text

You can add text in three different ways:

Type Directly:

  • Click on the large text area labeled “Paste your text here”

  • Type or paste your content directly

Upload a File:

  • Click the “Upload .txt File” button

  • Select a plain text file (.txt) from your computer

  • The text will automatically load into the input area

Paste from Clipboard:

  • Click the “Paste from Clipboard” button

  • The tool will read text from your clipboard and insert it

  • Note: You may need to grant clipboard permissions

2. Choose Your Jumbling Mode

Jumble (Typoglycemia) Mode:

  • Keeps the first and last letters of each word in place

  • Shuffles only the inner letters

  • Example: “Hello” becomes “Hlelo”

  • Best for maintaining word recognition

Full Scramble Mode:

  • Randomly scrambles all letters within each word

  • Example: “Hello” becomes “loHle”

  • Creates more challenging text

3. Adjust Jumbling Options

Scramble Intensity (Slider: 0-100%)

  • Controls how many letters get shuffled

  • Lower values: Minimal changes, mostly readable

  • Higher values: More randomization, harder to read

  • Real-time preview updates as you adjust

Minimum Word Length

  • Only jumbles words with at least this many letters

  • Words shorter than this setting remain unchanged

  • Default: 3 letters (so “a”, “I”, “to” stay normal)

Preserve Capitalization

  • When ON: Maintains original capitalization (Hello → Hlelo)

  • When OFF: May change capitalization patterns

  • Recommended: Keep ON for proper nouns and sentences

Preserve Punctuation

  • When ON: Keeps punctuation attached to words

  • When OFF: May separate punctuation from words

  • Recommended: Keep ON for natural-looking text

Random Seed

  • Leave empty for truly random results each time

  • Enter a number to get reproducible, identical results

  • Useful for sharing specific jumbled versions

  • Close other browser tabs if processing is slow

  • Consider breaking very long texts into sections

Unexpected Results:

  • Check your jumbling mode and intensity settings

  • Verify minimum word length setting

  • Try different random seed values
