About Barcode Types
CODE128
The most versatile barcode, supporting all ASCII characters. Widely used in logistics, packaging, and general product identification. Highly compact and efficient for encoding numeric and alphanumeric data.
EAN-13
European Article Number with 13 digits. The global standard for retail product identification. Used on virtually all consumer products worldwide. Requires exactly 12 digits plus 1 check digit.
EAN-8
Shortened version of EAN-13 with 8 digits. Designed for small products where space is limited. Commonly used for cosmetics, cigarettes, and small packaged goods. Requires exactly 7 digits plus 1 check digit.
UPC (Universal Product Code)
The standard barcode for retail products in North America. UPC-A contains 12 digits and is used on most consumer goods in the US and Canada. Essential for point-of-sale systems and inventory management.
CODE39
Alphanumeric barcode supporting uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Widely used in automotive, defense, and healthcare industries. Easy to print and decode, but less compact than CODE128.
ITF-14
Interleaved 2 of 5 with 14 digits. Used primarily for marking cartons, cases, and pallets in logistics. Ideal for shipping containers and distribution packaging. Requires exactly 13 digits plus 1 check digit.
MSI (Modified Plessey)
Numeric-only barcode commonly used for inventory control and warehouse management. Developed by the MSI Data Corporation, it's particularly popular in retail shelf marking and inventory tracking systems.
Pharmacode
Specialized barcode used exclusively by the pharmaceutical industry for packaging control. Encodes numbers 3 to 131070. Used primarily for controlling and verifying pharmaceutical packaging processes.
Codabar
Older barcode format still used in libraries, blood banks, and air parcel services. Supports digits 0-9 and special characters. Self-checking format that's easy to print with dot-matrix printers.

How To Use the Advanced Barcode Generator
Follow these simple steps to create and download professional barcodes:
Step 1: Configure Barcode Settings (Left Panel)
Select Barcode Type: Choose the desired barcode format from the dropdown menu (e.g., CODE128 for general use, EAN-13 for retail products).
Enter Barcode Value: Type the numeric or alphanumeric data you want to encode in the barcode. Make sure the value is compatible with your chosen barcode type (e.g., EAN-13 requires 12 digits).
Adjust Dimensions:
Bar Width: Set the thickness of the bars (values between 1 and 5).
Height: Set the height of the barcode in pixels.
Display Text: Choose “Yes” or “No” to show or hide the encoded value below the barcode.
Step 2: Generate & Preview (Right Panel)
Click the “Generate Barcode” button.
Your barcode will instantly appear in the preview area on the right, replacing the placeholder text.
Step 3: Download Your Barcode
Once the barcode is generated, a “Download PNG” button will appear below the preview.
Click this button to save the barcode as a high-quality PNG image file to your computer. The file will be named
barcode_[timestamp].png.
