Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Is my data safe with this tool?
A: Absolutely! This tool works 100% in your browser. No files or metadata are uploaded to any server. All processing happens locally on your computer. Your privacy is completely protected.
Q2: What file types are supported?
A: This tool only supports PDF (.pdf) files. Other file formats like Word documents, images, or text files cannot be processed. Ensure you’re uploading actual PDF files.
Q3: Can I edit encrypted or password-protected PDFs?
A: No. Password-protected or encrypted PDFs cannot be modified with this tool. You’ll need to remove the password protection first using other software before using this tool.
Q4: What’s the maximum file size I can process?
A: While there’s no hard limit, very large PDFs (over 500MB) may cause browser performance issues or timeouts. For best results, keep files under 200MB. The tool works best with regular-sized documents.
Q5: Will editing metadata affect the PDF content or quality?
A: No. Only the metadata (document information) is modified. The actual PDF content, images, text, and formatting remain completely unchanged. No quality loss occurs.
Q6: What metadata fields can I edit?
A: You can edit:
Basic: Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer, Language
Advanced: Creation/Modification dates, Copyright info, Document ID, PDF version
Display: Page layout, Page mode
Templates: Apply preset configurations for different document types
Q7: Can I revert changes if I make a mistake?
A: Yes! You have several options:
Use “Reset Form” to clear all metadata fields
Re-upload the original file
The original file is never modified – you always download a new copy
Changes are applied only when you click “Apply Metadata”
Q8: Why use templates?
A: Templates save time by applying predefined metadata configurations. Choose from:
Business Report: Professional corporate settings
Academic Paper: Research paper formatting
Legal Document: Confidential legal settings
Creative Work: Portfolio and artistic settings
Technical Manual: Technical documentation format
Confidential: Secure document settings
Q9: Can I process multiple files with different metadata?
A: Yes! Process files individually by selecting each file and applying specific metadata. Or use batch processing with “Apply to All” for consistent metadata across all files.
Q10: Does this tool work on mobile devices?
A: Yes! The tool is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. However, processing very large files on mobile may be slower than on desktop computers.
Q11: Are there any browser requirements?
A: The tool works on all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) updated within the last 2 years. JavaScript must be enabled. No additional plugins or downloads are required.
Q12: What happens if I close the browser during processing?
A: Since all processing happens in your browser, closing the tab will cancel any ongoing operations. You’ll need to re-upload your files. Always download modified files immediately after processing.
